folder-git-sync-secure
One Obsidian folder, safely on GitHub.
Why it exists
Obsidian vaults mix everything: journals, drafts, meeting notes, and the one folder you actually want backed up or shared. Whole-vault sync tools are all-or-nothing.
We wanted surgical sync: one folder, one repo, credentials handled carefully.
What it does
- Syncs a single folder within your vault to a GitHub repository, leaving the rest of the vault untouched and private.
- Handles credentials securely rather than scattering tokens through config files.
Under the hood
- A TypeScript Obsidian plugin, scoped deliberately small: it does one job and stays out of the way of your note-taking.
Why it matters
Small, sharply-scoped tools beat sprawling ones. We bring the same restraint to product features: build the 20% that solves the real problem, skip the 80% that just adds settings screens.
